    1920’s - 1940’s Forged & Cast Iron Electric Lantern Hook, Marked….. I thought this hook was for a oil lantern but after removing a gazillion layers of assorted enamel paint colors, my eye caught some lettering. It is halfway covered by the hook portion but I can make out “W_ _ _ _ _ Electric Company”. Dah, I had been wondering what the 3rd hole was for. Now I know it was for running the wire to the lamp. I got a picture of it in the photos. Unfortunately, the closeup picture also shows I should have cleaned it more. Anyhow, love old iron. The iron plate measures approximately 9.25” x 4.5” and the hook protrudes approximately 8.75”. I did season the iron on low heat.
