    Description

Forged tapered blade is firmly attached to horn handle with no wiggle.  Scattered rust/patina spots and one old streak of white paint on blade as seen.  Blade is double curved with a yelman (tip that widens at the back edge) in the style of a Turkish kilich or palash, while hilt is in the style of a Persian shamshir and particularly resembles the grips on Kevsvur swords from European Georgia.  I don't know what this means; perhaps it relates to 'Orientalism' in art or to some movement of migrants.  I've ticked 'Mexico' as country of origin, but that is a wild guess; it could be from somewhere further South.  Rare and savage old sword.
