Ceramic Sublimation Mug
White Glossy
11oz
Lot of four (4)
Classic choice for
personalization,
or gift giving
Supplies Needed:
- Sublimatable substrate (Mug)
- Sublimation transfer paper
- scratch paper
- Heat tape
- bucket of lukewarm water
Mug heat press settings:
- temp: 400 degrees F
- dwell time: 2:30 - 6:00 minutes
(see press Manufacturer for recommended dwell time for ceramic mug)
- pressure: light to medium
Notes:
1. The recommended setting above for sublimation may need
adjustments for best results. Sublimation setting will vary
depending on the heat press brand and model, ink and paper
and atmospheric conditions.
2.
Make sure that the artwork does not go beyond the size limits
of the mug press
Sublimation Instructions:
1. Cut the transfer paper so that it is slightly larger vertically
than the mug
2. Position the transfer paper onto the mug
3. Tape both sides of the paper near the handle of the mug
using heat tape
4. Wrap a piece of scratch paper around the transfer paper
and the mug taping it if necessary
4. Center the transfer paper and the mug in the heat press
6. Close the mug press per settings above
7. Remove items from the press immediately when time is
up. Use heat resistance gloves if necessary - the items will
be very hot.
8. Dip the mug into warm water
9. Once cool enough to handle, remove from water and
remove transfer and scratch paper.
Tips:
1. Do not place mug into cold water right after sublimation.
Cracking may occur. Use warm water only
2. If the image of the final product appears light, increase the
pressure or the dwell time slightly (30-60 seconds)
3.
If the image of the final product appears blurred, or the
substrate appears yellowed or has brown spots on the rim
of the top or bottom of the mug, reduce the dwell time
slightly (15-30 seconds)
4. Too much pressure can cause trapped moisture in the
paper to "jet" away, pulling ink with it in a spiked-peaked
formation. To avoid this reduce the pressure.
