  • Condition: An excellent full sheet(s) from the Greenland Post. Excellent quality, however, some minor printing and perforation varieties may exist on these sheets, especially on the early issues, and I do not differentiate between these in my listings. Any shadows, reflections, shine, hue or marks stem from my lack of photography skills - especially, some items appear with a pink hue, this is a reflection of the light in the room. MNH = Mint Never Hinged (ie. UMM: Unmounted Mint), MH = Mint Hinged (ie. MM = Mounted Mint), MLH = Mint Lightly Hinged, MNG = Mint No Gum, OG = Original Gum, RG = Re-gummed.

    Description

    This listing consists of an excellent full sheet of MNH Greenland Christmas Labels (seals, stamps). There is a long tradition of using Christmas Labels in Scandinavia, and the tradition was brought to Greenland and the Faroe Islands (Færøyene) by the Danish (Post). Christmas labels have no franking value, but were sold as a fundraiser for a charitable purpose and used in addition to stamps on Christmas cards and envelopes.
