Listing is for a handmade junk journal. I’ve repurposed a red hardcover Reader’s Digest book.
This journal measures approximately 7.5’ x 5.5’. Has 2 signatures with over 130 pages (front & back). Some pages are embellished with plenty of room for journaling.
Front cover has a collage of cardboard, book page, sewn in buttons and original picture of a fairy from the original book. There are gold metal book corners on all four corners of the book. Front cover has a metal book plate that titles, “Journal”.
The spine on the journal has been reinforced with a chipboard for more sturdiness and 3 glued on handmade crochet doilies.
Various papers are used for the pages. Coffee/tea stained papers, vintage ledgers, stationary, botanical, children’s books, etc. Some pages have been stamped on and plenty of sewing on pages and tags. There are handmade tags, envelopes, shakers, journaling cards, fabric flips, belly bands, pockets and tucks. There are 2 dangles, one made with beads and the other a little bottle of “fairy dust”. Both attached to a bulb pin that can be easily removed if you choose.
Closure for the book is a hitch fastener and a elastic tie, so there is plenty of room for your journal to grow.
NOTE:
This is a handmade journal. There may be some slight imperfections. When taking pictures, I tried to capture with best lighting. Some pictures may display lighter or darker. Please see pictures as it is part of the descriptions.
These books are one of a kind, no one will have anything similar. I really enjoyed putting these books together. Previous owner of these books were planning on throwing them away, and I couldn’t be more happier to repurpose these books rather than going to landfill. Each books were cleaned thoroughly. Perfect gift for you or for a love one!
