    Description

Vintage 1940s-50s Hensler Beer Frosted half pint glass in VERY GOOD condition. Condition is "used"
I collect these glasses, so I inspect them very closely. I grade each glass according to the scale at the bottom of this description page, please take the time to read and understand the scale. If there are any chips, cracks, or notable damage I will mention it in the primary description below. Please contact me if you have any questions.
8oz, 4 1/2" tall glass in VERY GOOD condition. Please look closely at all photos for an accurate understanding of condition. The marks on this glass are only on the surface, discoloration to the frosting and/or label, you cannot feel any characteristics to them when you run your hand or fingernail over them. I'm not sure if this glass was meant for service or as a utility piece behind the bar, it may have held foam scrapers or some other tool the bartender used. Aside from being frosted/smoked, it's a slightly different shape than typical shell glasses from the era. the angle of the side is sharper, it's slightly taller than other half pints, it's not as delicate and the bottom has a slight ridge around it. It almost looks like the kind of glass you'd find at a barber shop holding combs. A rare piece, to be sure, from an East Coast brewery that closed in 1958.
These old beer glasses are perfect for display or every day use. Grab this one today and enjoy your next happy hour in style! I list vintage beer glasses every week. Please have a look through my other listings and check back in regularly!
    GRADING SCALE:
PRISTINE = no identifiable wear marks of any sort, the glass is like new.
NEAR-PERFECT = less than 5 minimal, very light wear marks identifiable only using a light source and looking very closely.
EXCELLENT = up to 15 light wear marks around the glass, such as rub marks and micro-scratches, but no true scratches. Possibility of very minor chip/scratch in the label if there are no other wear marks on the glass.
VERY GOOD = similar number of wear marks as excellent rating, just a little more noticeable. Possibility of a light scratch ring on the bottom surface. Possibility of a minor chip or scratch in the label, nothing obvious.
GOOD = many light wear marks with the possibility of 1-2 minor scratches somewhere on the glass. Noticeable scratch ring on the bottom surface likely. Possibility of minor label damage.
WELL USED = lots of wear and/or multiple obvious scratches. Heavy scratch ring on the bottom surface likely. Significantly faded or damaged label possible.
DAMAGED = cracked, chipped, or very heavily worn glass.
