    Description

    This is a complimentary railway pass for Keokuk and St. Paul Rail Road from 1869. It is made out to "Rufus Ford Esq. Supt. M R Pk. Line," and signed by Edward Kilbourne, President.
    The elaborate ticket is  printed in blue ink on what is now an off-white card. On the back are printed the conditions of service.
    The card has some discoloration and the corners and edges are soft.
    It measures 3.75" X 2.25"
    Capt. Rufus Ford (1812 - 1896) was a wounded Union Army veteran who worked as a captain and later superintendent, on a Missouri River packet shipping line. He made his home in Illinois.  He was my great-grandfather.
