It is thick glass, and some air bubbles in the glass occur while hand blowing it. I've taken close-up photos so you can see all the bubbles and characters in the glass. This has a 32" circumference. It has the large Pontil on the bottom and a couple of little glass rubs here and there. There is a crack and I have tried to get a picture. However, it does not seem to cause any integrity issues, and I only noticed it when taking pictures. Email me with any questions.
I don't know much more about it, there aren't any other marks on it to help identify a maker.I was told by the sailor who gave this to me that the Japanese would melt glass pop or soda bottles to make their floats,
