Ted Miller, American Indian Artisan, Cherokee, Knife Maker...Original carved handle fixed blade knife with stand, signed and numbered 3277
Purchased in a trading post on the square in Santa Fe in latter 1980s
Knife overall length 8": handle, 4 5/8"; brass guard, 1/8"; blade 3 1/4"
Stand: 5 3/4" x 4 1/4" including a slot to hold knife blade
Stag antler handle depicts Indian profile with animal head dress
Animal head dress is inlaid with onyx for the eye, 1/4" coral stone, & 5/8" turquoise stone
Signed just under guard on blade "TM 3227"
Stainless steel blade: hand shaped, hand sharpened, balanced, & heat treated
Winning over fifty significant awards, he carves images of his heritage and culture from stories passed down through his ancestors. He began making knives in 1971 until his death in 2009.
