    The MDS-S500 has a compact body that can be easily placed in a personal space, and the operation buttons and jog dial are laid out for easy use. Compatible with the Net MD standard, music data purchased on the Internet and songs on your CD can be transferred to the MDS-S500 for recording. The recorded disc can also be played back on your portable MD player. Music management / playback software SonicStage and a USB cable are also included for music transfer by connecting to a computer.
    In addition, since it is equipped with MDLP mode and SF edit function, you can perform long-time stereo recording / playback and level adjustment of recorded songs. Also equipped with ATRAC / ATRAC3 DSP TYPE-S to further improve the playback sound quality in MDLP mode. We were able to achieve a noise reduction of about 6 dB compared to our conventional model. In addition, all the computing power of DSP TYPE-R for ATRAC is inherited by this DSP.
