Vintage 3D Tru-Vue True View Sally Rand Dude Nude Ranch Film #1313 View-Master____________________________________________________________
I have been collecting 3D media for the last 30 years and finally decided it's time to part ways with some of my favorite
things. This is one of the hardest to find and most desirable Tru-Vue films ever made. (Please see my other listings for
the others)
A Century of Progress International Exposition was the name of a World's Fair held in Chicago from 1933 to 1934 to
celebrate the city's centennial. The theme of the fair was technological innovation. The fair's motto was "Science Finds,
Industry Applies, Man Conforms". Right in the middle of the depression this was the first fair of it's kind in many years to
actually turn a profit. Sally Rand was the reason why....
Sally Rand was one of the most famous burlesque dancers ever... She single handedly made the 1933 Worlds Fair in
Chicago turn a profit in the middle of the depression and had an estimated 22 million viewers walk through her Nude
Ranch and see her innovative Fan dance and Bubble dance shows.
The Sally Rand Nude Ranch (described as Dude Ranch on the True Vue box) was without a doubt the highlights of the
fair. It started a sensation that spread all over the United States and into Europe. Sally once said, "I haven't been out of
work since the day I took my pants off." The ranch featured women wearing cowboy hats, gun belts and boots, and little
else. This rare Tru-Vue film captured the frenzy in amazing three dimensional photography. Something way to bold for
rival View-Master to cover.
Condition:
The film is in excellent condition. I have personally gone through it with white gloves to inspect every frame and every
film cog of the 14 paired stereo images, and they are all great!
This original red and silver box has all flaps attached and is also in excellent
condition. The box does have a small bit of shelf wear which is to be considered from a small box that has been around for
almost 80+ years. I have tried my best to photograph every aspect of the box and film so please judge for yourself. Please check my photos out and if you
have any questions, please email!
Thanks for looking!
