Vintage American Optical Co. Lighted Optometrists Doctor Rolling Eye Test Chart

Just out of a local smoke free house is this rare complete vintage Eye doctor or Optometrists eye chart. It has a rolling paper eye test with small to large letters advanced by light rope with cast iron weights and brass pulleys. This unit would have been hung on the wall in the doctors exam room and the patient would look in a mirror, on an opposite wall, at the eye chart to determine their vision status. It measures about 14 inches wide, about 12 inches high, and about 7 1/2 inches deep. It is fairly heavy and weighs about 14 pounds. The unit still retains the original roll but the roll has some holes, stains, and other damage. The light still works and the roll advances when the ropes are pulled. The walnut case shows some areas of use with some dings and scratches. It has a manufacturers plate on the front for The American Optical Company USA and the unit comes with an American Optical near vision eye test card dated 1942. The card has some water stains.
