VINTAGE BLUEBIRD OF HAPPINESS LEO WARD 1993 COBALT PEACOCK BLUE GLASS 3.75"

Description

This auction is for a vintage Bluebird of Happiness. This design was made and signed by Leo Ward in 1993. Leo was a glassblower from Arkansas. He moved to the Ozark Mountains with his wife Rita in 1975 where they opened the Terra Studios. The Bluebird of Happiness was first created in 1982 and became a nationwide household staple. Leo did different styles of the Bluebird up until his retirement in 2006. He passed away on October 18, 2017 but Terra Studios has remained open. The studio finally retired the Bluebird in 2019. This 1993 version has Leo's signature and year on the bottom. This beautiful piece can be used as a paperweight or a simple decoration. It is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. There is some slight discoloration on the bottom. It measures at 3 3/4" long and 2" wide. Own this lovely piece of Arkansas history today!
