    Description

Rare, Vintage Gurkha Kukri with Accompanying Karda and Chakmak Knives in Ornamented Leather Sheath
A rare piece of history of Indian, Gurkha and British Empire history.
Hand crafted in India, as marked on the sheath chape and both Karda and Chakmak blades.
The blade is thick and heavy with a very pleasant heft to it, and is also very well balanced. Blade length is approximately 12 inches (30cm)
The handle appears to be made of water buffalo horn and decorated with rings of patterned metal as well as several carved directly into the wood. The rivets form two decorative patterns, and the butt cap is engraved with a lion's head.
The sheath features embossed patterns on the leather as well as patterned metal throat band and chape.
It also bears what appears to be military insignia of  three lions atop crossed kukris, but is difficult to confirm due to wear.
Please note that the Kukri is sold and dispatched from United Kingdom. Worldwide shipping is available.
