  • Condition: This easel has never been used! It does have a few blemishes on the wood surfaces, and on several of the brass fittings. There was a crack on the wood piece that adjusts the angle of the lid of the case (the part behind your canvas). Please see the photo- I used wood glue on this area and it is now solid. I felt I could not mark this as 'New' as it has been opened up, and I had to repair the crack which probably occurred due to years of storage in dry conditions.

    Description

    This is a beautiful easel my sister bought years ago (thus vintage), but never got around to using.  It has 2 storage drawers, one of which you can remove, plus a palette that fits nicely on top of the box area.  I was totally mystified as to how to open up this easel until I watched a you tube video titled 'Setting up your French easel'.  Then is was super easy.  As I said in the condition description, there are some flaws that are cosmetic only.  The crack I found I used wood glue on and it is very solid now.  Please let me know if you want any more photos or if you have questions about it!
    I will offer free local pickup, as this easel weighs about 12 and a half pounds, shipping will be expensive.  The closed easel measures about  22 X 15 X 7 and quarter inches.  As pictured, it has 3 extending legs.  It has a nice handle to carry it with, and also there is a strap you can attach for carrying as well!  The area for holding your canvas extends to about 32 inches.  Get busy with your Plein - air painting!
