Description

ORIGINAL 1947 WESTERN RANGE FIRES INK BLOTTER MINI ADVERTISING SIGN WITH COWBOYS AND GRAZING HERD.
This forest fire type piece is different!
It promotes protection of ranges too.
As that headliner says: Grass makes wool, meat, leather--protect it!
The do-not-copy-strip is NOT on the original. At the bottom is the credit line for: State Forest Service, U.S. Department of Agriculture Forest Service.
The printing code on the bottom left starts with 47, and that is the printer’s code for the date, 1947. Just a bit over 2 x 6 inches in size--but will sure catch the eye in a small frame or popped up on a shelf.
I was lucky enough to find this nifty original advertising piece at the estate sale of a former forest service employee.
The relatives said he occasionally brought Smokey Bear and other items home for the family during the 1930s and 1940s. Condition is 10-point-mint.
